Chairman, Duquesne Family Office
Stanley Druckenmiller may have the most impressive track record on this list: thirty years averaging over thirty per cent a year, without a single losing year. He worked alongside George Soros for years and was behind the bet against sterling in 1992. Since 2010 he has managed only his own money, which leaves him freer in what he says publicly.
Druckenmiller is a macro investor who expresses his view in positions and discloses those positions every quarter. His interviews are rare but substantial: he explains how he moves from an economic picture to a concrete investment, which is more instructive than the conclusion alone.
